Reigisa drabble
Rei’s vision had been poor ever since he could remember.
Things had always been blurry, fuzzy at the edges and lacking in detail. As time progressed it only got worse, and Rei had to swallow his pride every time he misjudged distance or wandered too close to danger and ignore the snickers and hushed whispers. The others were quick to pick up on his deteriorating vision, but seemed to forget his hearing was just as sharp as theirs, if not sharper.
He could remember at an early age the concerned talks other adult merpeople would share with his parents, discussing the unlikelihood of his survival to adulthood. “It’s a miracle
